The City of Vancouver is holding People, Parks and Dogs meetings to gather feedback from the community and assess their current strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity to have your say in what it’s like to be a dog owner in the city, and suggest your awesome ideas for implementation into their new strategy.

The Parks Board states: In spring 2016, the Park Board engaged a team of consultants, led by space2place design, to develop People, Parks, and Dogs, a strategy for sharing Vancouver’s parks.

The comprehensive strategy will:

  • Provide evidence-based and data-driven policy recommendations for the development and management of our city’s dog facilities
  • Draw on the expertise and experience of park staff, professionals, park user groups, and the general public
  • Lay the foundation for well-designed off-leash areas that are successfully integrated within the our park system and the neighbourhoods they serve
  • Assist the Park Board in ensuring park facilities throughout the city meet the needs of park users

If you are a dog owner, a park user or anything in-between and want your voice heard, get involved! You can submit written comments, attend an info session, or participate in a small group discussion
