     Pumpkin banana bread with molasses and buckwheat flour 🤤 I used my trusted recipe for #bananabread that let's me use pretty much any ingredients I have/want without too much tinkering. I'm not a frequent #baker, as I prefer to let my ingredients guide me... In this loaf, I used #organic #pumpkin, #banana, #buckwheat seed #flour (dark, silky, full of #protein, #fibre, #iron, and #glutenfree), #grassfed #yogurt, #coconutoil, shredded #coconut, #cinnamon, #nutmeg, #chiaseeds, #pumpkinseeds, and slivered #almonds #  Ballots Cast  #ivotevan #coupleswhovote #dogmocracy
     Doing an #HR training online, which is listening based. Instead of just sitting on my butt, I got to werk. Stretching & Rolling out my (very sore - thanks to a hot barre class) body using the floor and a tennis ball  that I keep at my desk. I'm doing #ViparitaKarani // #legsupthewall // Inverted in Action to reverse blood flow & circulation (venous and #lymphaticdrainage), promote a relaxed state & heart rate, stretch out and relieve tension in the hammies & low back (especially since my SI Joint has been sticky the past few days), relax my #pelvicfloor, enhance my reproductive organs, reduce cramping & swelling in legs/feet, refresh my #brain, and for general maintenance & #preventativehealth - being #mindful about my #mindbodysoul This restorative posture is known to be beneficial to those with dis-ease such as #fibromyalgia, #menopause, #restlesslegsyndrome, #periodcramps, vein issues, tight pelvic floor, #anxiety, #stress, #headache, While this pose is ideal to do when you can truly rest and #meditate, it's still super helpful to do whenever you can squeeze it in. Get your voting on! #Vancouver is having a #byelection TOMORROW SATURDAY OCTOBER 14th at 50 locations  We will cast ballots for 1 City Council seat and 9 School Board Trustees. Many people don't "bother" to vote in a by-election, so it's a great opportunity to use your democratic privileges and #vote for what matters to you. You can bet that the TOP 1% ARE VOTING  Advance vote turnout has been low, only about 1%   . . . AFFORDABILITY ⛺️HOMELESSNESS FENTANYL TRANSIT HOUSING ♻️SUSTAINABILITY ⚖️DEMOCRACY . . . In reading the candidates profiles, only the 3 have platforms for the above: Green Party Pete Fry @ptfry, Independent Jean Swanson @swanson4council, and Independent Mary Jean Dunsdon @maryjeandunsdon. Vision Vancouver will still hold the power, as this is just one seat, but more diversity is clearly needed to push them in the right direction for an inclusive, affordable, healthy city. . . . Ridiculous Fact: Non-Resident Property Owners are allowed to vote (with some restrictions), while permanent residents are not. This means someone who own but does not live here can have a say, but PRs who live & contribute have no voice. It's estimated that there are over 100,000 PRs denied a vote. . . .      Preventative Health Care is key for a high quality of life. I (Big City Hippie Maddy @mindfullymaddy) started #joybundling - incorporating bundles of joy into my toolkit of #selflove. I wanted to share my "recipes" - so I created a crowd-sourced photo project @joybundling to share the unique ways others bundle, to inspire new methods, and to create a little dent in the greatest revolution of all #lovingyourself. So many of us are the rock for others. Empaths and Givers. Healers and Listeners. Huggers and Space Holders. How often do you do that for yourself? How often do you intentionally make space for caring for you? The answer is likely not nearly enough. Joy Bundling is #purposefulpleasure: creating and celebrating intentional space for selflove. Selflove comes in many forms; it's not just #selfdate night. It is however, about intention. Whether it's a #seaweed #bath watching #broadcity, calling a loved one to share, asking for help, saying no and creating boundaries, enjoying nature, ensure you put some purpose behind your actions. Decide upon time for you, by you, and Joy Bundle by elevating and transforming everyday moments through intention. We heard these powerful words from Dominican-American #author @junot_diaz, on a #podcast episode of On Being @onbeing. The context of this conversation was around power, privilege, #society, suffering, optimism, survival, #culture, #slavery, #trauma, genius, #innovation? #government and more. This line really struck me. When it comes to #privilege, it's so easy to slip back into "our reality" and go on living the same way we've always lived. What does it take to awaken our #mindbodysoul and truly change our behaviour? Privilege in this context is defined as not having to be aware of/deal with a certain problem/reality because it does not "apply" to you and your reality, even though you may be contributing to said problem/reality. I invite you to consider: what has recently riled you up, but then slipped away due to the allowance of privilege?
